Davies looks to continue strong form in ’25
TOM Davies will continue in the Trico Trans Am Series for 2025 with Garry Rogers Motorsport, looking to build from a strong finish to his rookie season at the Adelaide 500.
The 22-year-old is a graduate of GRM’s combine program, in which he participated at the start of the 2023 season.
Davies went on to split his time that year between a dual Formula Ford and Toyota 86 campaign.
Davies made the leap to Trans Am at the start of 2024, and enjoyed consistent improvements across the year in what was the most competitive Trans Am field to date.
It was a rookie season that netted eight top-ten finishes for Davies, highlighted by a personal best finish of seventh coming in Bathurst and in the season’s final race in Adelaide.
Davies’ impressive performance on what was an essentially level playing field in Adelaide will serve the Brisbane local well in 2025 with two brand new tracks, Hidden Valley Raceway and Mallala Motorsport Park, joining the calendar.
It will be a case of adding as much seat time as possible for Davies in 2025, who will dovetail his Trans Am campaign with time in the TA2 Muscle Car Series.
Davies is the second confirmed driver at GRM for the 2025 Trans Am season, joining the previously announced James Moffat in the LMCT+ Mustang.
Round one takes place from March 22-23 at Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains Raceway.
Quotes:
Tom Davies, #42 Ford Mustang
“It’s going to be a big field this year, and I can’t wait to get amongst it. Even more competition and expertise throughout the field is only a good thing.
“I’ve really enjoyed the Trans Am in particular because of the way the car moves around on the tyre, the close racing that comes with it and how in tune you need to be with how you look after the tyres.
“We’re versing some blokes who are in a car almost every week, so we’re looking at adding that extra seat time ourselves to really try and elevate our own potential.
“I think overtaking will be at a premium down in Tasmania with the amount of cars we might have, so it’s going to be pretty full on, but I’m excited.”
