Brook returns to Trans Am with new wheels
After missing the opening three rounds of the season, early 2022 title contender, Tim Brook will make his grand return to the series at Queensland Raceway.
In what will be his first category appearance since the corresponding round last year – Brook will no longer be behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang he guided to a handful of wins and podiums in 2022, and instead will return for a one-off hurl in a Total Parts Plus Dodge Challenger.

Brook’s standalone drive for 2023 came about thanks to Jeff and Hayden Hume, as the New South Welshman to trial a car that could be a potential permanent entry for 2024.
The entry of the #55 Dodge means the big three; Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger will share the grid for the first time since February’s AWC Race Tasmania.
Despite the round being a one-off, Brook was looking forward to a return to the category with the Total Parts Plus team.
“It should be grouse; I’m really looking forward to it,” Brook said.
“The last time in Trans Am was this round last year at Queensland Raceway, so it’s been a while between drinks and I’m looking forward to it.
“This time around I’ll be in the Dodge – Jeff Hume and Total Parts Plus had the car and saw a good opportunity to see what it is all about to potentially see his son Hayden compete next year.
“The change to the Dodge comes quite naturally, I drove it for the first time prior to our round at QR last year, it all seems pretty similar with only a few minor differences.
“We are not turning up just to make the numbers, we want to go as well as we can and where that lands us, we will have to wait and see. Hopefully we are competitive enough to still turn some heads and potentially see a more permanent spot in the category.”
After competing for the National Trans Am Series title just 12 months ago, a long break and a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered for Brook ahead of his return.
“Last year I was in the mix with Nathan and Kelly, that all erupted in Queensland and it wasn’t ideal so coming in this weekend with a pretty clear mindset is great,” Brook added.
“We want to get in the mix as much as we can, but we also don’t want to stick our noses into anyone else’s series bid and cause any grief.
“Life has been good since we had to pull the pin last year, I love racing and still get to drive the cars on the weekends, but I’ve been able to concentrate on the family, on business and still be able to get out on track next weekend.”
The National Trans Am Series is one of six national categories to feature at Queensland Raceway in August and will take the track for the first time on Friday for two practice sessions.
Qualifying on Saturday morning will decide the grid for the weekend’s first of four races across the weekend.

The fourth round of the National Trans Am Series will take place at Queensland Raceway as part of the fifth round of the Shannons SpeedSeries on 11-13 August.
