Rookie Blake Tracey Breaks Through with Back-to-Back Wins at The Bend

18 year old Blake Tracey claimed his first Trico Trans Am victories in Round 5 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, holding off reigning champion Todd Hazelwood and two-time title winner Nathan Herne in a standout performance.

Race One was brought under Safety Car conditions before a full racing lap could be completed, after Alice Buckley was forced off track due to a broken tail shaft.

Tracey led the field at the restart, but the race was soon interrupted by further drama involving Jordan Cox, Aaron Love, James Moffat, and Ben Gomersall. The incident forced both Moffat and Gomersall to retire from the race.

Tracey lead the way in race two while Diesel Thomas spun at turn six getting collected by his team mate Tommy Smith in the #111 SCT Logistics Ford Mustang.

A fierce battle between Todd Hazelwood, Nathan Herne, and Jordan Cox allowed Tracey to break away and build a gap at the front of the field.

Domain Ramsay stopped at the final corner after a spin, while Adam Garwood came to a halt on the run to Turn 1 with a broken tail shaft, bringing out the Safety Car.

The Racing Academy’s rookie Cody Maynes-Rutty delivered an impressive performance, rounding out the day with a strong fifth-place finish.

Tracey will start Race three tomorrow morning from pole position for the final race from Todd Hazelwood and Nathan Herne.

Trico Trans Am will have one race tomorrow at 11:00am ACST live on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.
