Golding Masters the Rain Ahead of Qualifying
Changing track conditions between Friday’s two Trico Trans Am Series practice sessions has left little in terms of a form guide ahead of qualifying.

Points leader James Golding headed the order at the end of the second session, run in wet and greasy conditions that were in stark contrast to the dry opening session earlier that morning.
Golding’s best, a 1m31.7082s, was over 10 seconds slower than the best time in Practice 1, set by title rival James Moffat.
Nash Morris was Golding’s closest pursuer, albeit almost a second adrift in second place, with Nathan Herne, Moffat and Elliot Barbour rounding out the top five.
The track conditions remained wet throughout, although some drivers were able to make late improvements.
Todd Hazelwood was among them, setting the fastest middle sector of all on his final dip to end up sixth ahead of Jordan Boys, with Tim Slade, Edan Thornburrow and returning local racer Lee Stibbs rounding out the top 10.
Most of the 19-car field enjoyed a largely trouble-free session despite the conditions; the only exception being Ben Grice, who completed just a single lap before spending the remainder in the pits.
The Trico Trans Am Series is next on track at 16:05pm local time for a 20-minute qualifying session for the Trico Pole Award ahead of four races across the weekend.
