Everyone except Elliot Barbour ventured on to the circuit, with the field seemingly split on how much could be learnt from the slippery conditions on track. James Golding set the pace early on, before The Racing Academy’s Elliott Cleary fired himself to the top with his fifth and final lap.

Jordan Boys was another driver to log just five laps, while Ben Grice went out for a short three lap stint in his All American Driveline and Auto Parts Ford Mustang.

Cleary’s lap held up for the large majority of the session, before the GRM quartet struck late in the 20-minute session as the sun emerged from the clouds and began to slowly dry the track.

Moffat went to the top, just beating out Golding by 0.09 seconds. Edan Thornburrow was third fastest ahead of Tim Slade, half a second back, while Cleary’s time held on for fifth.

Josh Webster set the pace in Pro-Am for Dream Racing Australia, ahead of Ashley Seward Motorsport’s Mark Bailey, John Holinger and Chris Pappas.

The field will head back out for practice two at 1:05pm local time, where track conditions are expected to be significantly drier.

Qualifying and the fight for the Trico Pole Award will follow at 4:30pm.
