AWC Race Tasmania Track and TV Schedule Revealed
A bumper schedule has been unveiled for AWC Race Tasmania, from March 15-17 at Symmons Plains Raceway, along with a massive 12 hours of live and free coverage via 7plus and four hours free-to-air on 7mate as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
The event features an action-packed category line-up with the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, the Trico Trans Am Series, Precision National Sports Sedans, the ACL Race Series Hyundai Excel and the Sparco Tassie Tin Tops. Also set to thrill spectators will be demonstrations from Drift League Tasmania, who will take to the track for six sessions across Saturday and Sunday.
All up, the fourth edition of Race Tasmania will feature upwards of 18 hours of on track action with three full days of competition.
It’s the second round of the Shannons SpeedSeries calendar, hosting round two for TCR Australia and Trans Am. The Sports Sedans commence their 2024 season in Tasmania, marking the first time in series history the popular production category has commenced on the Apple Isle.
The exciting Trans Am Series will deliver plenty of action, with four races scheduled for the second round of their season, with the category taking in two races each on Saturday and Sunday.
Fans in attendance will be able to get up close with the cars and drivers just moments before race start, with a free grid walk prior to race two for both Trico Trans Am and Supercheap Auto TCR Australia.
The Hyundai Excels and Tassie Tin Tops will feature in Tasmania for the second time in two weeks, following a one-day event at Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway on March 10. Across the two events competitors in the ACL Race Series Hyundai Excel will be racing for a record purse of $10,000, the largest in Australian Hyundai racing.
7plus will cover all the action from the first sessions on Saturday and Sunday, through to 4:00pm AEDT on both days. 7mate will simultaneously host free-to-air coverage from 2pm to 4pm AEDT for both days as well.
