Barbour Tops the First Trico Trans Am Session of 2024
The Trico Trans Am Series roared into action for 2024 with Practice 1 at Sandown International Raceway, with Elliot Barbour the early pacesetter.
Barbour led the way from the outset, topping the charts with his first lap and continuing to lower the benchmark until he posted a 1:11.9320s. Jordan Boys came close to topping the times on his debut, falling 0.0509s short.
Hayman looks to have picked up from his strong form in the back half of 2023, as he rounded out the top three, with a 1:12.2130s.
Reigning Series Champion James Moffat along with Nash Morris rounded out the top five. Ben Grice was sixth after sitting towards the bottom of the sheets early on, ahead of Tim Slade and debutant James Golding. Elliot Cleary and Todd Hazelwood closed out the top 10.
In the Pro-Am field, it was John Holinger leading the way from Chris Pappas and Josh Webster.
Practice 2 sees the green flag at 12:50pm.
