Local boy Jackson Rice to fill vacant DRA seat

Jackson Rice has been named as the driver to fill the vacant seat at Dream Racing Australia for the third round of the National Trans Am Series at the Hi-Tec Oils Race Winton this weekend.

Rice has replaced the outgoing Tyler Everingham after the latter made the move across to The Racing Academy shortly after the category’s most recent round in Phillip Island.

The 20-year-old will enter the event with plenty of experience under his belt having previously competed in the series with Dream Racing Australia last season where he was able to grab a handful of top-10 finishes.

His 2023 debut couldn’t have come at a better time either, with the Wodonga-grown product having spent a considerable amount of time at the Winton Raceway recently – even going as far as to call it his home circuit.

The National Trans Am Series will be in action during this month’s Hi-Tec Oils Race Winton, with Saturday and Sunday’s action to be broadcast live and ad-free via Stan Sport.

Saturday’s coverage on Stan Sport will take place from 11:00am to 5:00pm AEST, while 9Gem will showcase the series live and free from 2pm AEST. Sunday’s Stan Sport coverage will start from 9:30am and will conclude at 5:00pm.

Tickets to the event can be purchased via motorsporttickets.com.au with plenty of ticketing options available.

The Shannons SpeedSeries’ Hi-Tec Oils Race Winton takes place at Winton Raceway on 9-11 June.

Jackson Rice – Driver, Dream Racing Australia.

“I have spent time with the team racing last year and in other categories in 2023, to be able to run it back with the team in the National Trans Am Series is very exciting,” Rice said.

“I work with the team full time in Melbourne prepping the cars, and also competing with them across the categories so it will be fun to keep it going.

“ I am really keen to pin myself against a super competitive class with some very fast guys and we have come a long way from last year to this year so im excited to see where I sit and continue to grow myself.

“Finishing with a straight car is the goal, it’s not our series to win after missing the last couple of rounds but to be able to show we are competitive and component would be a perfect result for the weekend.”

Craig Scutella – Owner, Dream Racing Australia.

“DRA couldn’t be more excited than to have Jackson at Winton this weekend contesting Round 3 of the ARG Trans Am series, Scutella said.

“Jackson is fast around Winton and the team have prepared a very strong Mustang (Sponsored by Ford Value Auto Group & Bonnici First National so with some lady luck he will be looking for some strong results.

“These Trans Am cars are the real deal, they sound great, they move around, they slide, and they are fast and as various Supercar drivers have testified – “winning in Trans Am is as hard as winning in Supercars.”
