Full-time rookies launch seasons ahead of AWC Race Tasmania

Just a week out from the opening round of the National Trans Am Series at AWC Race Tasmania, fresh liveries have made an appearance for three young guns set to undertake their first full-season in the class.

JAMES SIMPSON

Fourth generation racer James Simpson won’t be making his National Trans Am Series debut at AWC Race Tasmania after contesting the Bathurst round last season, but he has committed to a full campaign in 2023.

Simpson’s Dodge Challenger will have a fresh appearance thanks to CAOS by design as Drew’s SIGN IT and SMARTECH Business Systems aided in producing the wrap.

Major support comes from new sponsor AIRSMART Air Conditioning Queensland supported by Fujitsu AirStage, while continued backing comes from Cairns Plaza Hotel, Molytec Australia and Brett Peters Motorsport.

TOM HAYMAN

Having already scored a podium in the class in just his second round last year, Tom Hayman enters the new season in his family-run Ford Mustang as a driver to watch.

Hayman has named his Mustang ‘Bullitt’ as he completed a shakedown at Sydney Motorsport Park this week prior to making the trip down to Symmons Plains.

Again, Di Prinzio Concreting take pride of place on the side and bonnet, but this year is joined by Ansen’s Tyre & Auto, Pryce Engines, Fix Auto Lake Macquarie, Carl Jr’s Glendale, Real Balance Business Consulting, Hunter & Coast Air & Electrical and Battery Power Solutions.

Off course the distinctive green, blue and grey wrap was produced for Hayman by Creative Signworx.

JOSH WEBSTER

A driver making his National Trans Am Series debut at AWC Race Tasmania is Josh Webster, but the difference is he’ll be doing it at his home circuit of Symmons Plains.

Enjoying success at previous AWC Race Tasmania events in the Hyundai Excels, Webster makes the step up to national competition this season with the assistance of Dream Racing Australia in a Chevrolet Camaro.

For his debut round, Document Management Tasmania has jumped on board to be joined by Auto Fix Sorell, Love Tasmania Tours, Topform Excavations, Bridgestone Select Moonah, Kingston 4X4, Don Towing and MJB Photography.

The livery comes courtesy of Hobart Signwriters P/L and is going to be hard to miss on the track.

A stacked field is set to contest the opening round of the third season of National Trans Am at AWC Race Tasmania on February 24-26.
