ARG, Trans Am and Hoosier sign new multi-year tyre arrangement
The Australian Racing Group is pleased to confirm a new multi-year control tyre supply deal with famous American racing brand Hoosier Tires.
The deal will see all cars in the National Trans Am Series compete on the unique cross ply Hoosier tyre for the upcoming seasons.
Since the category’s inception in Australia – both Trans Am and TA2 categories – the class has always competed on Hoosier tyres.
The new deal with Trans Am means that it will continue to align with the TA2 Muscle Car Series, ensuring a simple crossover for competitors in both classes.
Hoosier Tires are distributed in Australia through Max Dumesny Motorsport.
The tyres are one of the unique to the class, promoting more driver input that produces an entertaining on track product.
The new deal between ARG and Hoosier continues a multi-category relationship that also includes the popular Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters class and the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship.
The opening round of the National Trans Am Series will be held at Symmons Plains Raceway as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries on February 24-26.

Stan Sport will provide live, uninterrupted and on-demand coverage of all Shannons SpeedSeries rounds. AWC Race Tasmania will also feature free-to-air broadcasting on the Nine Network’s digital channels on Saturday afternoon from 2-5pm (February 25).
