Circuit to City attracts thousands of fans in Bathurst

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst International has been launched in front of thousands of fans with the Circuit to City event this evening.

On the eve of the inaugural event at the famous Mount Panorama circuit, 40 cars headed from the pit bays of the mountain circuit and drove into the city, led by the Supercheap Auto-branded Honda Civic Type R TCR, driven by Stan Sport broadcast expert Greg Rust.

The race vehicles congregated in the city where thousands of fans poured over the cars and stars, enjoying the live music, food vans and atmosphere that came with the city spectacle.

Event director Ken Collier hailed the fan event as a huge success.

“The Circuit to City has really put the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International on the map,” said Collier.

“To see the 40 cars from all of the classes file out of the track to greet the fans was great, but to see the turn out was really humbling. It was terrific to see.

“The support we’ve had from the teams and drivers has been overwhelming. It is a big effort for them to get these cars from the circuit to the city, but there was no complaints, and the fans were the big winners.

“I need to pay a big thank you to the local police department and the Bathurst Regional Council who helped make this happen. Without their support and guidance, it was no possible.

“Now, it’s all about the on track action, and we’re looking forward to seeing those fans and more arrive at Mount Panorama for our much-anticipated event.”
