Second in both practices was Garry Rogers Motorsport driver and key title contender Owen Kelly in his Fujitsu-supported Ford Mustang as Nash Morris also replicated third in the pair of 20-minute sessions.

At the close of the second session, Kelly was just 0.282s behind Grice in what proved a Mustang domination at the front.

Turtle Wax Trans Am Series title leader Nathan Herne placed ninth in the opening session before improving to fourth in the second in the Team Valvoline GRM Mustang as impressive rookie Tom Hayman finished the day in fifth piloting the DiPrinzio Concreting Ford.

The PBS Specialty Coatings Mustang of Cody Burcher finished the session sixth from TPS Group Chevrolet Camaro of Brett Holdsworth, Kyle Gurton in the Micale Cabinets/Nuveau Group entry, Jon McCorkindale in the Dial Before You Dig Ford and the Dodge Challenger of Hogan Prestige Cars driver Nic Carroll.

Behind the top three in opening practice, Gurton, Burcher, Hayman, Holdsworth, Carroll, Herne and Elliot Barbour in the DJ Pioneer Chevrolet Camaro.
