Budget constraints rule Tim Brook out of Turtle Wax Trans Am Series Sandown finale
Turtle Wax Trans Am Series frontrunner Tim Brook will miss the final round at Sandown due to budget constraints.
A race winner earlier this season at AWC Race Tasmania and a continually thorn in the sides of Garry Rogers Motorsport, Brook has ruled out contesting the event as he takes a break to re-group ahead of an attack on the 2023 series.

Currently fifth in the standings, Brook races the sole-Wall Racing entry in the field and completes a majority of the work required to get his Ford Mustang ready for each round.
The loss of his major sponsor at the beginning of the year has also added the requirement to chase additional support, with many joining the Sydney-based driver to enable him to complete the season up to this point.
Although he will be missing on the grid, Brook is focused on spending time away from the track to rejuvenate and is hopeful the support required will ensure he is on the grid for 2023.
Brook has highlighted himself as a title contender having finished third in last year’s title and remained a constant threat throughout the season until a disappointing round at Queensland Raceway dropped him from third to fifth in the standings.
The historic Sandown venue will host the final round of the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series as part of the SpeedSeries, with Stan Sport’s live, uninterrupted and on-demand coverage being joined by continued free-to-air coverage of Saturday’s opening race on 9Gem/9Go! beginning at 3:00pm. “It’s been a tough year financially, so we have made the decision to park it to the side with a plan to re-group and have a decent crack at it next year,” Brook said.
“I would like to thank everyone that has been in the process to keep us going this year because we were nearly sitting out Round 2 at Phillip Island and almost again for Round 3 at Bathurst.
“There’s been plenty to juggle this year, which has definitely taken a toll on me. It’s been a big effort from everyone, a few people have chipped in more than what they wanted just to try and keep the ball rolling and keep the program going.
“We’ve had good people around us this season and we’ve ticked a lot of the boxes where we can. I’d like to think rolling into any round this season we have been as competitive as anyone.”
