Final round schedule for Turtle Wax Trans Am Series revealed

The schedule has been revealed ahead of what is expected to be an exciting conclusion to this year’s Turtle Wax Trans Am Series in the category’s first visit to Sandown.

More than 25 Turtle Wax Trans Am Series entries are expected to contest the final round as Garry Rogers Motorsport driver and reigning series winner Nathan Herne leads the standings by 19-points ahead of teammate Owen Kelly.

Also, in with a shot at the title is third placed Brett Holdsworth in the TPS Group/Breeze Holiday Parks Ashley Seward Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro, 56-points behind Kelly.

However, Holdsworth is within reach for a tight group of contenders led by Micale Cabinets/Nuveau Group Dream Racing Australia’s Kyle Gurton. A race winner this year, Tim Brook lost further ground at Queensland Raceway and will be targeting a return to form at Sandown.

Jon McCorkindale is lead rookie in the series and will be aiming to maintain this position driving the Dial Before You Dig Ford Mustang.

A home round for Ben Grice and Nic Carroll ensures they will be contenders to end the season ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.

Impressive rookies Lochie Dalton, Jett Johnson, Cody Burcher, Elliot Barbour, John Harris and Jackson Rice will aim to end their maiden campaigns strongly.

Two 20-minute practice sessions start the build up to the final round on Friday starting with the first at 9:45am followed by the second at 1:05pm AEST.
