Turtle Wax Trans Am Series schedule announced for up north

The Turtle Wax Trans Am Series is set for a close battle in the category’s first visit to Queensland Raceway as a close battle at the top of the standings is set to continue.

It’s a battle between youth and experience as Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Owen Kelly holds a slender six point advantage from young teammate Nathan Herne for Valvoline Team GRM.

Tim Brook holds third, just 17 points behind leader Kelly in his Wall Racing Ford Mustang as Brett Holdsworth in his Ashley Seward Motorsport-prepared TPS Racing Chevrolet Camaro also remains in contention entering the penultimate round.

Following a two day test last week, the likes of Ben Grice, Nash Morris, Chris Pappas and Kyle Gurton will be ones to watch in what promises to be an action-packed round.

Turtle Wax Trans Am Series kicks off the action for SpeedSeries categories at Queensland Raceway, with opening practice at 9:55am before a second session at 1:20pm each of 20 minute duration.

Qualifying on Saturday will provide challenges in expected cold conditions at 8:05am in a two-part session similar to what occurred at the opening round at Symmons Plains.

Three races follow including the opener on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm before a doubleheader on Sunday, the first being at 12:55pm and the final race of the weekend at 3:25pm.

Fans are being encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queues at the gates. Parking for spectators will also only be available around the circuit, with the car park unavailable to ticket holders for this event due to the venue set up and garaging for the seven categories.

Once again, all tickets provide access to the paddock and all areas of the circuit, as well as free grid walks prior to TCR races.

Park and watch areas feature around the outside of the circuit encompassing Turns 1, 2, 3 and 6 with all spots providing a complete view of the circuit.

The SpeedSeries at Queensland Raceway will feature seven racing categories and 12 hours of live and ad-break free coverage on Stan Sport across Saturday and Sunday.

The coverage will be broadcast on Stan Sport between 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
