James Simpson logs first laps in Seven82Motors Dodge Challenger

Fourth generation racer James Simpson has turned his first laps in the recently revealed Seven82Motors Dodge Challenger at Queensland Raceway last week.

Simpson completed a full day of running prior to his debut in the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series at Bathurst next month where he will join what is expected a large field will race at the Mountain.

Simpson with father Michael and grandfather Ian on hand logged 60 laps as he came to grips with the Challenger as he continues his progression from the Queensland Excel Series, the same competition fellow Turtle Wax Trans Am Series competitors Nash Morris and Jett Johnson have graduated from.

The Challenger ran faultlessly all day and Simpson came away from the test full of new learnings ahead of his debut.

Simpson will debut at Bathurst, which will host the third round of the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series during the Easter  long weekend on April 15-17 as part of a massive Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour event.

The second round of Turtle Wax Trans Am will be part of the opening Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event of the season at Phillip Island on March 18-20.
