Track schedule and broadcast times revealed for AWC Race Tasmania
The track schedule and Stan Sport/Nine Network broadcast times have been released for the second-running of AWC Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains on February 11-13.
The opening event on the Australian motor racing calendar, AWC Race Tasmania plays host to the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship and the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series as well as three closely contested state-based categories.

If you can’t make it trackside, the SpeedSeries will be available to stream ad-free, live and on demand on Stan Sport, with live coverage also on the Nine Network.
Stan Sport will cover the action from 1300-1700 on both Saturday and Sunday (February 12-13), delivering all qualifying sessions and races from the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australian Drivers Championship and the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series.
For AWC Race Tasmania, the first major national-level motorsport event for the calendar year, coverage will be simulcast on the Nine Network’s GEM channel. Saturday will feature live and free motorsport at 1500-1700, with more racing on Sunday between 1300-1500.
International race fans, including New Zealand residents, will be able to watch the coverage on Motorsport.tv.
Supercheap Auto TCR Australia enters its third season at Symmons Plains where track action begins on Friday with drivers undertaking two 30 minute practice sessions at 11:10am and 1:35pm.
Drivers will be thrown straight into the deep end on Saturday with its usual two-part knockout qualifying session encompassing an opening 15 minute segment for all entries before the top 10 entries battle it out for pole in the final 10 minute component.
Supercheap Auto TCR Australia’s opening encounter will follow at 4:25pm Saturday afternoon, closing out the day’s action.
A pair of races follow on Sunday starting at 2:25pm, before rounding out the event with its final event at 4:20pm.
After an exciting 2021 campaign, the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship again kicks off its season at AWC Race Tasmania where on Friday two 30 minute practice sessions occur at 11:45am and 2:10pm.
Saturday’s action begins at 1:25pm, with a 20-minute battle for pole taking place ahead of the opening race at 3:10pm.
Two races complete the opening round of the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, with Sunday’s action beginning at 1:50pm for Race 2, before the final encounter at 3:40pm.
An exciting field will take part in the opening round of Turtle Wax Trans Am, with the popular muscle cars completing a pair of 20 minute practice sessions at 10:45am and 2:45pm.
The shoot out for Turtle Wax Pole Position is scheduled for 1:55pm on Saturday before Race 1 at 3:10pm.
Again, the final two races for Turtle Wax Trans Am occur on Sunday, with action beginning at 1:15pm for Race 2, while the final event for the category is at 3:05pm.
Private testing will occur on Thursday and Friday for all categories, while the on-track schedule for both days will commence at 10am.
