Nathan Herne leads the way heading into qualifying

It was Turtle Wax Trans Am Series leader Nathan Herne, who led the way in the category’s sole practice ahead of qualifying this afternoon.

Herne, who is yet to take a Turtle Wax Pole Position this season set a 2m 12.4105s lap in his Dream Racing Australia Team Valvoline Dodge Challenger to lead the Garage 1 Morris Finance Racing Ford Mustang driven by the impressive Kyle Gurton.

Behind Gurton, maiden race winner TRADIEPAD Wall Racing’s Tim Brook was 0.0949s in arrears as Ben Grice in the All American Auto Parts and Driveline Ford Mustang, and Team Sydney Property Care’s Edan Thornburrow completed the top five.

RESULTS: Turtle Wax Trans Am Series Round 6 Practice

The session ended early due to a red flag for the stranded Dream Racing Australia Chevrolet Camaro of Craig Scutella, who ended in the Hell Corner sand trap.

Also, Aaron Tebb broke an axle on Conrod Straight.

Rounding out the top 10 were Sensational Kitchens CXC Racing‘s Dylan Thomas, Kubota Racing pair Matt MacKelden and Hugh McAllister, Zach Loscialpo in the Team Tempest Solutions Chevrolet Camaro and Scutella.

Turtle Wax Qualifying will occur at 3:50pm AEDT.
