New Chevrolet Camaro for Zach Loscialpo

National Trans Am Series competitor Zach Loscialpo will enter the final two rounds of this year’s season in a new Chevrolet Camaro after taking delivery of the chassis recently.

The former Toyota 86 Race Series and Production Car racer will test the Camaro at Sydney Motorsport Park later this week before the penultimate round of the series at the same venue on November 19-21.

“It’s in the garage at home and we’ve done a set-up for it ahead of our first test with it on Thursday at Sydney Motorsport Park,” said Loscialpo.

“We did a seat fit the other week, adjusted all the seat belts and pressed the ignition just to get a feel for it. It felt pretty good.

“We’re just keen to get out and give it a go to see how we weigh up. It’s going to be a good to go back at Sydney Motorsport Park, my home round so what better place to debut the new Camaro.”

With many rivals taking the opportunity this year to update, it was an chance Loscialpo couldn’t pass by.

“It’s hard to get your hands on a new car,” he said. “We had to tell them pretty quickly after it came in July and it’s a good opportunity so we’ll give a good shot with a new chassis.”

Having made his debut in National Trans Am earlier this year, the acquisition of a new chassis demonstrates Loscialpo and his family team’s commitment to the class in what has been a season of discovery.

“I’ve found it pretty good,” he reflected. “The car is incredibly quick.

“This year has definitely been a big learning curve for us to try and understand the car with all of its adjustments.

“We’re pretty happy with how we’re going, we’ve had a few little hiccups here and there, but its how we deal with it after that is what matters.”

The next round of the National Trans Am Series will be at Sydney Motorsport Park on November 19-21.
