Nathan Herne beat Aaron Seton to victory in the second Trans Am race at Sydney Motorsport Park.
It was a tight battle between the regular front-runners, Herne unable to shake Seton across the 11 laps.
Instead he had his mirrors full of Seton’s Ford Mustang until the flag, the winning marking just two-tenths of a second.
Owen Kelly didn’t get the chance to defend his Race 1 win thanks to a first-lap tangle that also included Kyle Gurton.
Kelly was out of the race on the spot, the clean-up requiring safety car intervention for a handful of laps.
Nash Morris and Ben Grice emerged in third and fourth ahead of Brett Holdsworth, Dylan Thomas and Tim Brook.
Gurton recovered to finish eighth as Tim Shaw and Edan Thornburrow rounded out the Top 10.
The Trans Am action continues tomorrow with Race 3 at 11:30am local time.
