Aaron Seton claims pole amid carnage on Adelaide streets

Aaron Seton has taken an historic pole position in the inaugural round of the National Trans Am Series at the Adelaide street circuit this morning.

Seton set a benchmark time of 1:24.4888s in his Ford Mustang around the famous 3.2km circuit.

His time was over 0.8s better than next best George Miedecke (Chevrolet Camaro), although Miedecke’s session was compromised by an incident with Craig Dontas half way through the session.

Dontas spun his Camaro example at the exit of Turn 4, and Miedecke, on a flying lap, didn’t see the errant vehicle before it was too late, with the two cars slamming nose-to-nose.

Both crews are now working to fix the cars ahead of Race 1 at 1:30pm local time.

Cameron Crick will line-up third in his Dodge Challenger, ahead of Brett Holdsworth (Camaro), Dontas, ex-TCR Australia driver Jimmy Vernon (Mustange), Nathan Herne (Camaro), and a trio of Mustangs in Hugh McAlister, Matt MacKeldon and Anthony Tenkate.
